## How much does ClickUp cost? The short answer

**As of October 18, 2026, ClickUp's pricing page lists Free Forever at $0, Unlimited at $7 per user a month billed yearly ($10 monthly), Business at $12 yearly ($19 monthly) and a custom Enterprise plan, with AI sold on top as Brain AI ($9 per user a month) or Everything AI ($28). The same page also carries a second lineup that ClickUp is testing: Core $9, Business $17 and Max $100 per user a month billed yearly, with AI credits built in. On either lineup, the plan that can send a webhook to another app is Business, so that is where an automated team really starts.**

We read clickup.com/pricing on October 18, 2026. The page's own code contains both plan grids, and the newer one is marked as a pricing variant, so which one you see depends on the test group your browser lands in. We list both instead of guessing. The cost examples below are our arithmetic on ClickUp's published numbers.

## The current lineup: Free, Unlimited, Business, Enterprise

| Plan | Per user a month (yearly / monthly) | Automation runs a month | Active rules | Webhooks, email, SMS and integration actions | API calls |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free Forever | $0 | 100 | 5 | No | 100 a minute |
| Unlimited | $7 / $10 | 1,000 | 500 | No | 100 a minute |
| Business | $12 / $19 | 5,000 | Unlimited | Yes | 100 a minute |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | 250,000 | Unlimited | Yes | 10,000 a minute |

Free has 60 MB of storage and one form. Unlimited adds unlimited storage, spaces, forms, custom fields and Gantt charts, plus guests with permission controls. Business adds advanced dashboards, timeline and workload views, Google sign-in, private whiteboards and the advanced automations. Enterprise adds SAML single sign-on, SCIM, audit logs, custom roles, HIPAA on request and data residency in the US, EU or APAC.

AI is a separate line on this lineup. Brain AI is $9 per user a month and adds 1,500 AI Super Credits per user; Everything AI is $28 and adds 5,000, plus unlimited AI fields, AI automations and the notetaker. Extra credits cost $10 per 10,000 on any plan, and ClickUp says credit use varies with the complexity of the task.

## The test lineup: Core, Business, Max

| Plan | Per user a month billed yearly (regular price) | Automation actions a month | AI credits | MCP calls a day |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free Forever | $0 | 100 per workspace | 500 per workspace | 100 |
| Core | $9 ($12) | 1,000 | 1,000 per user, pooled | 300 |
| Business | $17 ($25) | 10,000 | 1,500 per user, pooled | 1,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom | 1,000,000 | 3,000 per user, pooled | 25,000 |
| Max | $100 ($120) | 1,000,000 | 10,000 per user, pooled | No daily cap |

The structure is different, not just the prices. AI moves inside the seat as a pooled credit allowance, the automation allowance on Business doubles from 5,000 to 10,000, and a new Max plan bundles Enterprise controls with ClickUp's top AI tier at a listed price. Webhooks and integration actions are still a Business-and-up feature, and the API stays at 100 calls a minute until Enterprise. The MCP column matters if you plan to let Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant work inside ClickUp: at 300 calls a day, Core supports light use, not an agent that touches tasks all day.

## The number that decides your plan: automation runs

ClickUp's upgrade rule is workspace-wide: to upgrade, every member of the workspace moves to the paid plan, and each workspace is billed separately. So the seat price is fixed by headcount. What you choose is the allowance, and two lines decide it.

- **Automation runs.** Every time a rule fires ("when a form comes in, assign the owner"), it uses one. When the month's allowance is gone, the rules stop until it resets or you upgrade.
- **Advanced actions.** Sending a webhook, an email, an SMS or an action into another app is an advanced automation. On both lineups, Unlimited and Core do not include it. If ClickUp has to tell your CRM, your billing tool or an AI agent that something happened, the floor is Business.

The API limit rarely bites day to day, but it sets the pace of a migration. At 100 calls a minute, moving 5,000 existing tasks in with one call each takes at least 50 minutes, and a sync that checks 12 lists every minute already uses 12 of the 100.

## A worked example: a 12-person agency with 350 requests a month

ClickUp lists allowances, not bills, so here is one. A 12-person marketing agency takes client requests through a ClickUp form, about 350 a month. Each request fires four rules: assign an owner by service, set the due date, email the client a confirmation, and send a webhook to an outside AI step that drafts a brief. Reminders and status moves add about 200 more runs, for roughly 1,600 a month. All prices are billed yearly.

| Plan | Monthly bill, 12 users | Does it run this workflow? |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Unlimited (current) | $84 | No. 1,000 runs, and no email or webhook actions |
| Core (test) | $108 | No. 1,000 actions, and no email or webhook actions |
| Business (current) | $144 ($1,728 a year) | Yes. 1,600 of 5,000 runs, 32% used |
| Business + Brain AI for all 12 (current) | $252 | Yes, plus 1,500 AI credits per user |
| Business (test) | $204 ($2,448 a year) | Yes. 1,600 of 10,000 actions, 16% used, AI credits included |

What the cheap plans hide: this agency cannot run its intake on the $84 plan at any volume, because the confirmation email and the webhook are the steps that make the workflow worth having. On the current lineup the real price is $144, or $252 if everyone needs ClickUp's AI. On the test lineup it is $204 with AI credits pooled across the workspace (18,000 a month here). So if you would buy Brain AI anyway, the new Business is $48 a month cheaper; if you would not, the current Business is $60 cheaper. The agency could triple its request volume before either Business plan runs short of automation runs.

Agencies should also count guests. On the current lineup, Business gives 10 guest seats for the first paid user and 5 for each additional one, so 12 paid users get 65 guests; Unlimited gives 5 plus 2 per additional user, or 27. Anyone from inside your company counts as a paid user, not a guest.

## ClickUp vs monday.com and Asana on price

ClickUp's entry paid plan is the cheapest of the three at $7 a user, but the comparison that matters is the plan where automation becomes useful. ClickUp Business at $12 includes 5,000 runs a month. monday.com Standard caps automation at 250 actions, which a 10-person team can use up in its second week, as our [monday.com pricing](/blog/monday-pricing) breakdown shows. Asana includes unlimited rules but sells seats in blocks of 5 for mid-sized teams and meters AI by request; our [Asana pricing](/blog/asana-pricing) breakdown has the full table. For how the AI features themselves stack up, see [Asana AI vs Monday AI vs ClickUp AI](/blog/asana-ai-vs-monday-ai-vs-clickup-ai).

## How ClickUp connects to AI and workflow automations

ClickUp connects natively to Slack, HubSpot, Google Drive and about 50 other apps, and to Zapier and Make for everything else. Inside ClickUp, its own AI can fill AI fields, run AI automations and power Super Agents, all paid for in credits. Outside ClickUp, the pattern we see most is ClickUp as the task board and a separate automation layer doing the cross-app work: a webhook from ClickUp Business into Zapier, Make or n8n, which reads the request, calls an AI model and writes the result back. That layer has its own meter; our [Zapier cost](/blog/how-much-does-zapier-cost) guide shows how tasks add up on the same kind of intake volume.

## Is ClickUp worth it?

For a team that wants tasks, docs, chat and forms in one place, yes, and Business is the plan to price. It is less of a fit if most of your work happens in other systems (a CRM, a job-management tool, an accounting app) and ClickUp would only mirror it, or if you need hundreds of thousands of automation runs, which only Enterprise and Max include. If the test lineup reaches your account, check whether the included AI credits replace an add-on you were going to buy; that is the whole case for paying $17 instead of $12.

## Who can build ClickUp automations and AI agents for my business?

ClickUp's own rules cover a lot, and a capable operations manager can set up intake, assignment and reminders in an afternoon. A builder earns a fee when ClickUp has to trade data with your CRM, billing or job software, when AI should read and route each request, or when the work has outgrown what ClickUp's rules can express. SuperDupr, Justin McKelvey's company, does that work and does not sell ClickUp seats. Connecting ClickUp to the rest of a business is an [AI workflow automation](/solutions/ai-workflow-automation) project for us, published at $10,000 to $25,000 and typically live within 2 to 4 weeks. After launch, keeping the connections healthy costs $200 to $2,000 a month depending on how much runs through them. You keep the ClickUp workspace and everything built around it. ## Frequently Asked Questions

### How much does ClickUp cost per user?

As of October 18, 2026, ClickUp's current lineup is Free Forever at $0, Unlimited at $7 per user a month billed yearly ($10 monthly), Business at $12 yearly ($19 monthly) and Enterprise by quote. AI is extra: Brain AI is $9 per user a month and Everything AI is $28.

### What are ClickUp's Core and Max plans?

They belong to a second plan lineup that ClickUp's pricing page is testing, marked in the page code as a pricing variant. It lists Core at $9, Business at $17 and Max at $100 per user a month billed yearly (regular prices $12, $25 and $120), with pooled AI credits included in every plan instead of a separate AI add-on.

### How many automations do you get on ClickUp?

On the current lineup, Free includes 100 automation runs a month, Unlimited 1,000, Business 5,000 and Enterprise 250,000. On the test lineup, Free has 100 actions per workspace, Core 1,000, Business 10,000, and Enterprise and Max 1,000,000. Webhook, email, SMS and integration actions start on Business in both.

### Do I have to pay for every user in ClickUp?

Yes. ClickUp's FAQ says an upgrade applies to the entire workspace, so every member moves to the paid plan, and each workspace is billed separately. Guests from outside your company are not billed: on the current lineup, Business includes 10 guest seats for the first paid user and 5 for each additional one.

### Is ClickUp Business worth it over Unlimited?

If anything in ClickUp needs to reach another app, yes. Unlimited does not include webhooks or email, SMS and integration actions, and it caps automation at 1,000 runs a month. For a 12-person team the difference is $60 a month billed yearly ($84 vs $144), and Business includes 5,000 runs.

### Who can connect ClickUp to my other software?

Simple rules are worth setting up yourself. When ClickUp needs to trade data with your CRM, billing or job software, or AI should read and route each request, SuperDupr, Justin McKelvey's company, builds it as an AI workflow automation project published at $10,000 to $25,000, with support at $200 to $2,000 a month. Most AI systems go live in 2 to 4 weeks.
