## How much does Freshdesk cost? The short answer

**As of October 19, 2026, Freshdesk costs $19 per agent a month on Growth, $55 on Pro and $89 on Enterprise, billed annually, or $23, $66 and $107 month to month. There is no free plan on the pricing page; new signups get a 14-day Enterprise trial. AI costs extra: every plan comes with 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions once per account, then $49 per 100 sessions, and the Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent a month on Pro and Enterprise.**

We read freshworks.com/freshdesk/pricing and Freshdesk's API documentation on October 19, 2026. The monthly prices come from the pricing page's own price data, which the page shows when you switch to monthly billing. The cost examples below are our arithmetic on Freshworks' published numbers.

## Freshdesk plans compared

| | Growth | Pro | Enterprise |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Per agent a month, billed annually | $19 | $55 | $89 |
| Per agent a month, billed monthly | $23 | $66 | $107 |
| API calls a minute (whole account) | 100 | 400 | 700 |
| MCP actions included a year | 1,200 | 6,000 | 12,000 |
| Freddy AI Copilot | Not offered | $29 per agent a month | $29 per agent a month |
| Day pass for an occasional agent | $2 | $7 | $12 |
| Routing | Rule-based dispatch, automations | Adds round robin and load-balanced assignment, multiple SLA policies | Adds skill-based assignment |
| Other plan-defining features | Ticketing, shared inbox, portal and knowledge base, reports | Multilingual helpdesk, custom dashboards, external collaborators | Freddy AI Insights, sandbox, audit logs, IP allowlisting |

The page labels annual billing "Save 20%". On the published prices the saving is closer to 17%: $19 against $23 is 17.4%, $55 against $66 is 16.7%, and $89 against $107 is 16.8%. Freshworks lets you upgrade at any time, but downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the term, so an annual plan is a 12-month commitment at the tier you pick.

## What the AI really costs: sessions are not a monthly allowance

This is the line most Freshdesk quotes get wrong. The 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions on Growth, Pro and Enterprise are a one-time trial allowance. Freshworks' FAQ says they are "limited to once per account" and that once they are used, you buy more. After that, sessions cost $49 per 100.

What counts as a session matters as much as the price. For the email AI agent, Freshworks defines a session as a 72-hour window starting from the customer's first email, and every AI reply inside that window counts once. A customer who writes back on day four starts a second session. Session packs last as long as your payment cycle: pay quarterly and the sessions expire quarterly.

Copilot is a separate product. It drafts replies, summarizes long threads, translates and suggests articles for the human agent, at $29 per agent a month billed annually ($35 monthly, per the page's price data). You can buy it for some agents and not others, and it has no day passes.

## The limits that break automations

- **API calls are counted for the whole account.** Freshdesk's API docs say the per-minute limit applies account-wide, no matter how many agents or IP addresses make the calls. Growth gets 100 calls a minute, Pro 400 and Enterprise 700, and trial accounts 50. Invalid requests count, and so do calls made by custom apps installed in Freshdesk.
- **Each endpoint has its own ceiling.** On Growth you can create or update 50 tickets a minute and list 40 pages of tickets or contacts. On Pro the figures are 160 and 100; on Enterprise, 280 and 200. Extra API capacity is sold by quote.
- **MCP actions are a yearly pool.** If you let an AI assistant such as Claude act inside Freshdesk through MCP, Growth includes 1,200 actions a year, Pro 6,000 and Enterprise 12,000, prorated to your billing cycle, then $15 per 1,000.
- **Freshworks' own connectors are metered.** Data sync through its pre-built connector apps uses tasks, sold at $80 per 5,000.

Two of those numbers in practice. Moving 20,000 old tickets into Freshdesk at one call per ticket takes at least 400 minutes on Growth's 50-a-minute create limit, and 125 minutes on Pro. And an assistant that takes 20 actions a working day (about 22 days a month) uses 5,280 MCP actions a year, so it empties Growth's 1,200 in under three months and fits inside Pro's 6,000.

## A worked monthly bill: 6 agents, 1,200 email tickets

Take a 6-agent support team on Pro, billed annually, receiving 1,200 email tickets a month. Assume the AI agent picks up 480 of them (40%) as one session each, every agent gets Copilot, and a CRM sync through a Freshworks connector uses about 3 tasks per ticket. These splits are illustrative, not Freshworks' numbers.

| Line | Math | Per month |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Pro seats | 6 × $55 | $330 |
| Copilot | 6 × $29 | $174 |
| AI Agent sessions (after the one-time 500) | 5 packs of 100 × $49 | $245 |
| Connector tasks | 3,600 tasks, one pack of 5,000 | $80 |
| **Total** | | **$829** |

The seats are $330 of an $829 bill. In month one the free 500 sessions cover the AI agent, so the first month costs about $245 less than every month after it. If the AI agent takes 70% of tickets instead of 40%, sessions go from 5 packs to 9 ($441) and the monthly total reaches $1,025. The same 6 agents on Growth would pay $114 in seats, but Growth cannot buy Copilot and gets a quarter of Pro's API capacity.

## Freshdesk vs Front and Zendesk on price

Freshdesk is the cheapest of the three to start: $19 a seat against Front's $25 Starter. The AI meters differ. Front bills its Autopilot agent per conversation by how far it gets, from $0.05 to $0.89, as our [Front pricing](/blog/front-pricing) breakdown shows; Freshdesk bills $0.49 per session whatever the outcome. So a conversation the AI fully resolves costs less on Freshdesk ($0.49 against $0.89), and one it only tags and routes costs less on Front ($0.05). Which is cheaper overall depends on your mix. Zendesk's suite plans and how its AI compares are in [Zendesk AI vs Intercom vs Gorgias](/blog/zendesk-ai-vs-intercom-vs-gorgias), and the wider field of AI support tools is in our [AI customer service software](/blog/ai-customer-service-software) comparison.

## How Freshdesk connects to AI and workflow automations

Inside Freshdesk, the built-in automations (time and event triggers, dispatch rules, SLA escalations) are on every plan, and the pricing page lists no usage cap on them. Reaching other software is where the meters start: Freshworks' connector apps use tasks, an AI assistant uses MCP actions, and anything built against the REST API shares the account-wide rate limit. The other route is an outside automation platform such as Zapier, Make or n8n reading Freshdesk through that same API, which keeps the rate limit and adds the platform's own meter; our [automation platform pricing](/blog/automation-platform-pricing) guide prices one workflow on each.

## Is Freshdesk worth it?

For a small team that needs email ticketing, a help center and rules-based routing, Growth at $19 a seat is one of the cheapest serious helpdesks you can buy. Pro is the plan to price if you want Copilot, more than one SLA policy, round-robin assignment or room in the API. Before you count on the AI agent, budget for sessions from month two, because the 500 included sessions do not renew.

## When a custom AI support agent makes more sense

At 480 AI sessions a month, Freshdesk's AI agent costs about $2,940 a year in session packs (60 packs) once the free 500 are gone, which is a reasonable price to test whether AI can handle your tickets. The case for a custom agent is reach, not price at that volume: an agent that answers by phone and text as well as email, looks up orders, bookings or job status in your own systems, and writes the result back to Freshdesk. SuperDupr, Justin McKelvey's company, builds [custom AI customer support agents](/solutions/ai-customer-support), published at $8,000 to $15,000 with $200 to $2,000 a month in running costs, and most go live in 2 to 4 weeks. We do not resell Freshdesk. Once your sessions run into the thousands a month, price both over twelve months.
