WordPress SEO Services for Google and AI Search

We do SEO and AEO inside your WordPress site, not in a slide deck: schema written by hand, template fixes, speed, plugin cleanup, content rebuilds, llms.txt and AI crawler rules. We're a team that builds and runs sites, so the fixes get made in your theme and content, not handed back to you as a to-do list. Priced after a 30-minute call.

The short version

What do WordPress SEO services include?

WordPress SEO services are the work that gets a WordPress site ranked in Google and quoted by AI assistants, done inside the site itself. That means schema that matches each page, templates with one H1 and an answer up top, fast pages that pass Core Web Vitals, fewer plugins, content that's been sorted and rebuilt, and robots.txt rules that let AI search crawlers in.

SuperDupr does this as a fixed project or as part of our ongoing AI Search Program. If you want a one-time fix at a set price, see the $5,000 AI Search Optimization build.

What do we fix inside WordPress?

Most of it lives in the theme, so one fix carries to every page built from that template.

Schema written by hand

Organization, Service, Product, Article, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList written for each page type, with your real prices, authors and dates. Not a one-size plugin default.

Template fixes

One H1 per page, a short answer block right under it, FAQ blocks that render as real HTML, author boxes that link to a real bio, and updated dates that only change when the content does.

Speed and Core Web Vitals

Image sizes, fonts, scripts that load on every page for no reason, and caching. We test against Google's Core Web Vitals and fix what's failing on mobile first.

Plugin cleanup

We list every plugin, what it does and what it costs in load time. Overlapping ones get merged, unused ones get removed, and anything that duplicates schema gets turned off.

Content triage and rebuilds

Every post gets a call: keep, refresh, merge, redirect or remove. Then we rebuild the pages buyers read when they choose, like comparisons and alternatives, to an answer-first standard.

llms.txt

A plain file at your site root that points AI tools to your most useful pages, kept in sync as pages change.

Robots rules for AI crawlers

robots.txt rules that let AI search crawlers reach your pages, with your own call on whether to allow training crawlers.

Reporting

Rankings, AI answers and signups tracked per URL from a week-2 baseline. See AI search reporting for how it works.

How is this different from an SEO plugin or a typical agency?

A plugin gives every site the same settings. A typical agency tells you what to change. We change it.

SEO plugin on its own Typical SEO agency SuperDupr
Schema Generic defaults for every site Recommended in a report Written by hand for each page type
Templates and theme Not touched A list for your developer We edit the theme, you approve
Speed and Core Web Vitals Not covered Flagged Fixed and re-tested
Plugin bloat One more plugin Sometimes flagged Audited and cleaned up
Content A score per post Briefs for your writers Triage, then rebuilt pages in your editor
AI crawlers and llms.txt Varies by plugin Sometimes Set up and checked
Reporting None Rankings and traffic Rankings, AI answers and signups per URL

Why write schema by hand instead of using a plugin?

A plugin has to work for millions of sites, so its default schema can't know which page is your pricing page, what your plans cost, or who wrote a post. Hand-written schema can. A comparison page can say what it compares, a service page can carry the real offer, and an article can name a real author with a real bio.

It also has to be true. Google's structured data guidelines say not to mark up content that isn't visible to readers of the page. So we write the schema and the visible content together, and when a price changes, both change.

What counts as a fast enough WordPress site?

We use Google's own bar. Per web.dev's Core Web Vitals guidance, a good page loads its largest content within 2.5 seconds, responds to input in 200 milliseconds or less, and keeps layout shift at 0.1 or less, measured at the 75th percentile of real visits on mobile and desktop.

On WordPress, the usual causes are oversized images, too many plugins loading scripts on every page, page builders adding layers of markup, and slow hosting. We fix them in that order, because the first two are cheap and the last one costs money.

Which AI crawlers should a WordPress site allow?

Search crawlers and training crawlers are different bots, and robots.txt treats them separately. Here's how we set the defaults, based on OpenAI's crawler docs and Google's crawler docs.

Crawler or token What it's for Our default
OAI-SearchBot Surfacing sites in ChatGPT search answers Allow
GPTBot Content that may be used to train OpenAI's models Your call; it doesn't control ChatGPT search
ChatGPT-User Visits a page when a ChatGPT user asks it to Allow
Google-Extended Gemini training and grounding; Google says it doesn't affect Search inclusion or ranking Your call

Security plugins and firewalls sometimes block these bots on their own, so we test with each user agent after the rules are set. For the tools we use to watch AI answers, Justin's guide to AEO tools covers the options.

Does this work on Webflow or a custom-coded site?

Yes. The standard is the same and only the tools change. On Webflow we work in the Designer and CMS collections. On a custom-coded site, we open pull requests in your repository and your developers review and merge them, or we can run the site for you. Either way, a person on your team approves what goes live.

Moving off WordPress, or onto it? That's a migration, and it needs a redirect map and testing before launch. See SEO migration services. Want to know what's wrong before anyone touches the theme? Who does the work, and what won't it do?

Justin McKelvey runs it. He's spent 15 years building products and shipped more than 50 of them. Before software, he ran snowboard and mountain-bike shops and taught himself to code. SuperDupr builds and runs client sites, so we work in the code as well as the content. More about Justin.

We hold our own sites to it. On our November 2, 2026 scan of each site's articles against our page standard, justinmckelvey.com scored 93 out of 100, superdupr.com 89 and getlocalcall.com 87.

The honest limit. Google says you don't need new machine-readable files or AI text files to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and llms.txt is still a proposal, not a standard. We add it because it's cheap to add and some AI tools read it, not because it moves rankings. The work that moves results is clearer pages, consistent facts and a fast site crawlers can read. Even that can't guarantee a ranking or a citation. AI answers often shift within weeks; Google takes months.

Questions

What do WordPress SEO services include?
Ours covers the work inside the site, not just advice about it: schema written by hand for each page type, template fixes (one H1, an answer-first block, FAQ blocks, author boxes and real updated dates), speed and Core Web Vitals, cleaning out plugin bloat, content triage and page rebuilds, an llms.txt file, robots.txt rules for AI crawlers, and reporting on rankings, AI answers and signups.
Do I still need an SEO plugin like Yoast or Rank Math?
Usually yes, for the basics: titles, meta descriptions and sitemaps. We keep what it does well and turn off what it does generically. Where the plugin's default schema says less than the page does, we replace it with schema written for that page type, so your pricing page, comparison pages and articles each describe what's actually on them.
How much do WordPress SEO services cost?
It's priced after a 30-minute call, because a 40-page brochure site and a 1,500-post blog are different jobs. You'll get a written scope and price before we start. If you want a one-time fix with a set price, the $5,000 AI Search Optimization build covers schema, answer-first pages, llms.txt and technical fixes on WordPress too.
Can you work on our theme and code, or only in the editor?
Both. We can edit templates in a child theme or your custom theme, change blocks and patterns, and clean up plugins. We work on a staging copy first when you have one, and your team approves changes before they go live. If you'd like, we can also host and run the site for you.
Does this help with ChatGPT and AI Overviews, or just Google?
Both, because most of the work is shared. Pages that open with a direct answer, keep facts consistent, use clean headings and schema, and can be read by crawlers do well in Google and get quoted by AI assistants. We also set robots.txt rules so AI search crawlers can reach your pages, and test real buyer prompts to see where you're named.
We're not on WordPress. Can you still help?
Yes. The same work runs on Webflow through its editor and CMS, and on a custom-coded site we open pull requests in your repository for your developers to review and merge. On other CMSs we draft through their API with a role that can't publish on its own.
How long until we see results?
Speed and template fixes show up in testing right away. AI answers often shift within a few weeks of a fixed page going live, because assistants that search the web re-read it. Google rankings usually take months. We set a baseline in week 2 and report from there, and we don't promise dates.
