Zoho Desk Pricing 2026: Plans per Agent, the Free Edition, and the Limits That Force an Upgrade
As of October 25, 2026, Zoho Desk costs $7, $14, $23 or $40 per user a month on Express, Standard, Professional and Enterprise, billed annually, with a free edition for 3 users. Webhooks, telephony and Blueprint workflows start on Professional, and Standard caps at 5 users, so a support team's sixth hire takes the bill from $70 to $138 a month.
How much does Zoho Desk cost? The short answer
As of October 25, 2026, Zoho Desk costs $7 per user a month on Express, $14 on Standard, $23 on Professional and $40 on Enterprise, billed annually in US dollars. There is a free edition for 3 users and a 15-day free trial of any plan with no credit card. Monthly billing is available at a higher rate. For anyone automating support, the plan that matters is Professional: it is where webhooks, telephony and Blueprint workflows start, so a 5-agent team that needs them pays $115 a month, not $35.
Every Zoho number on this page comes from Zoho's own Desk pricing page and its pricing FAQ, read in US dollars on October 25, 2026. Zoho's page shows the annual price on each plan card; the monthly-billing figures did not render in our read, so this page quotes annual prices.
Zoho Desk plans and the features that gate automation
| Plan | Per user a month, billed annually | What it adds that a builder cares about |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, 3 users | Email ticketing. No automation, SLAs or AI features, per Zoho's FAQ |
| Express | $7 | Email and social channels, web forms, workflows, direct assignment, escalations, AI Agents (bring your own key or Zoho's model, up to 30M free tokens a month), generative AI with your own OpenAI key |
| Standard | $14 | Live chat widget, WhatsApp and other messaging apps, Answer Bot from your knowledge base, help center, satisfaction ratings, custom reports |
| Professional | $23 | Webhooks, telephony integration, Zia AI, Blueprint step-by-step workflows, multiple departments, round-robin assignment, custom actions in workflow rules, light users at $6 each |
| Enterprise | $40 | Zoho SalesIQ live chat with bots, guided conversations, skill-based routing, multi-level IVR, custom modules, sandbox, 50 free light users |
Two limits are easy to miss. Zoho's pricing FAQ says Standard tops out at 5 users, with unlimited users on the higher plans. And the 3 free users do not carry over: when you upgrade, Zoho says, those 3 users are no longer included.

Is Zoho Desk free?
Yes, for very small teams. The Free edition gives 3 users email ticketing "free forever". It has no automation, SLAs or AI, and no light users. When the 15-day trial of a paid plan ends, Zoho drops the account to Free rather than locking it, so you can trial Professional without losing your tickets.
Worked bills: what a growing support team actually pays
Zoho prices per user, so the jumps come from plan limits, not from seats. Here is one home-services company as its office grows, priced on the annual rates above.
| Team | What they need | Plan | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 office staff | A shared inbox for service requests | Free | $0 |
| 5 agents | Live chat, WhatsApp, a help center | Standard, 5 x $14 | $70 |
| 6 agents | Same features, one more hire | Professional, 6 x $23 (Standard caps at 5) | $138 |
| 5 agents + 4 techs who read tickets | Webhooks into the job software, an AI step, techs commenting | Professional, 5 x $23 + 4 light users x $6 | $139 |
The sixth hire roughly doubles the bill, from $70 to $138, because of the Standard cap. And the moment you want tickets to trigger anything outside Zoho, a webhook to your dispatch system or an AI agent you host, you are on Professional anyway.
Zoho Desk vs Zendesk and Freshdesk on the same 5 agents
Zendesk and Freshdesk figures below are from those vendors' own pricing pages as published in our breakdowns, read October 21 and October 19, 2026. All three are annual-billing list prices.
| 5 agents, annual billing | Entry plan | First plan with chat and AI agents (Zoho: with webhooks) | How AI is metered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zoho Desk | Express $35 a month | Professional $115 | AI Agents on every paid plan with up to 30M free tokens a month, or your own OpenAI key |
| Freshdesk | Growth $95 | Pro $275 | 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions once per account, then $49 per 100; Copilot $29 per agent |
| Zendesk | Support Team $95 | Suite Team $275 | Metered by automated resolutions, with a small included allowance |
On list price Zoho is the cheapest of the three at every step, and its AI is metered in tokens rather than per conversation. To put 30M tokens in context: if one AI reply uses about 3,000 tokens of instructions, help-article context and answer (our assumption, not Zoho's), the monthly allowance covers roughly 10,000 AI replies, far more than a 5-agent team handles. Freshdesk and Zendesk charge per AI conversation or resolution instead. Our Zendesk pricing and Freshdesk pricing pages run those meters at 1,500 tickets a month.
The trade is ecosystem. Zoho Desk is strongest next to Zoho CRM and the rest of Zoho's apps. If your team already lives in another CRM, budget the integration work, not just the seats.
When does a custom AI support agent make more sense than Zoho's?
Zoho's built-in Answer Bot and AI Agents answer from your knowledge base and Zoho data well. They are a weaker fit when the answer lives in another system: a job's status in your field-service app, an order in your store, a booking in your scheduler. That is where teams wire a custom agent to Zoho through the Professional plan's webhooks and the API, so Zoho stays the ticket system and the agent reads and writes the other data. Our roundup of AI customer service software covers the tools built for that job. For how the big AI support platforms compare when you outgrow built-in bots, see our Intercom Fin vs Decagon vs Sierra comparison.
Who can build an AI support agent on Zoho Desk for my business?
If someone on the team will own the workflows, Zoho's own tools take you a long way on Professional. If the agent needs to reach into other systems, SuperDupr, the AI ops shop Justin McKelvey runs, builds custom AI customer support agents that sit on top of help desks like Zoho Desk. Our published price is $8,000 to $15,000, with $200 to $2,000 a month in running costs depending on volume, and most AI builds go live in 2 to 4 weeks. Zoho stays billed to your own account at Zoho's rates; we do not resell it. The first step is a free 30-minute strategy session, booked from that page.
